Now the Theta waves (4-7 Hz), these waves occur mostly with dreams, deep meditation and REM sleep. The lesser known function of this brain wave are:

Various trials have shown that this level encourages your brain to make endorphins (these are biochemical’s that make you feel better), improved studying, need for less sleep, sleeping problems, improved memory.

Research shows that children spend a lot more time with their brains in a theta state than adults do. Which helps to explain why children can soak up information as though they were a sponge, whereas adults can often take longer.
